UMF President Theodora J. Kalikow and Director of Facilities Management Robert Lawrence display Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certifications awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council for the Education Center and Francis Allen Black Hall. LEED certification involves independent, third-party verification that a building project meets the highest green building and performance measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve natural resources, lower operating costs, increase asset value and create healthier living environments.
